MIMS, FL – A traffic worker was killed, and another was seriously injured when a semi-truck collided with their vehicle on I-95 Monday morning, FOX 35 Orlando reports.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near mile marker 228 around 9 am.
The traffic workers were in a CMTI truck, a vehicle with a video screen that directs traffic using illuminated arrows. The semi truck failed to move over as it approached the stationary CMTI truck and crashed into its rear.
The driver of the CMTI truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
