Semi-Truck Jackknifes, Causes Multiple Collisions in Michigan

MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A tractor-trailer jackknifed on I-696, causing a fuel spill and multiple other collisions last Tuesday morning, ClickOnDetroit reports.

According to police, the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-696 near 11 Mile Road in Warren around 11 am. The driver of the tractor-trailer was speeding and lost control when the truck jackknifed, blocking three lanes. The accident caused “additional crashes” and a fuel spill, which required significant cleanup.

It’s currently unknown whether any injuries occurred.

The accident remains under investigation.
