The semi-truck, driven by Borko Stankovic, of Lyons, Illinois, was headed eastbound when a van ahead slowed due to traffic. Stankovic did not appear to slow. He then attempted to swerve to the left, where he collided with a Subaru Crosstrek headed in the opposite direction. The semi-truck then jackknifed and rammed the van into a road sign.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Crosstrek was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver and passenger of the van were treated for minor injuries on the scene and then released.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation determined that Stankovic did not possess a CDL, but was in possession of a suspended CDL owned by a family member. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of criminal recklessness resulting in death and one felony count of reckless homicide.
