The <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">force of the crash<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> caused the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">truck<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to overturn and ejected the truck driver from the vehicle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>First responders arrived at the scene after 11:30 p.m. and transported the trash truck driver, his passenger, and the Audi passenger to Greenville Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The trash truck driver later succumbed to his injuries before 12:45 a.m. at the hospital.<br \/>\nHe has since been identified as David Mather Whitehead Sr. of High Point, North Carolina. The Audi passenger is recovering from serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what physical condition the Audi driver is in. However, law enforcement confirmed he was charged with felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury, and open container.
