GOLD ROCK, NC \u2013 Four people were hospitalized, and one driver was charged after a rear-end truck crash on I-95 South Sunday, WRAL<\/a> said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A driver of a Volvo truck failed to reduce his speed while driving and rear-ended a Mack track. The impact of the rear-end truck crash caused the Volvo to jackknife.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mack truck was driven by a man, who was accompanied by his wife and their 3-year-old child, while the Volvo driver was the sole occupant of his vehicle. All of them were sent to UNC Hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Volo driver is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was identified as 27-year-old Marlon Patterson and \u201cwas charged with failure to reduce speed, driving with a revoked license and no seatbelt.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities said the family of three was taken to a hospital as a precaution but did not disclose their physical conditions or confirm if they were injured.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

North Carolina Department of Transportation crews shut down the area for the clean-up process and have reopened all lanes since.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
