WRIC<\/a> reports. The hit-and-run suspect was traveling in the center lane when they drifted and then struck the other 18-wheeler driven by a 58-year-old man identified as Silvio Sobrinho. Once the vehicles collided, Sobrinho lost control of his tractor-trailer and then crashed into a barrier. The hit-and-run truck driver came alongside Sobrinho, took a gun out, shot Sobrinho and his truck, and drove away.<\/p>\nA passerby later saw what unfolded and came to Sobrinho\u2019s aid. They quickly contacted 911, and Virginia State Police showed up moments later. The trooper conducted CPR on an unconscious Sobrinho. Despite the trooper\u2019s best efforts and later from paramedics, Sobrinho perished at the scene.<\/p>\n
The eyewitness told State Police that the hit-and-run suspect was driving a truck with green and white lettering. Authorities are working to identify and find the suspect and are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the wreck.<\/p>\n
