ROGERSVILLE, TN \u2013 A driver of a 2008 International truck cut off a 2013 Ford Explorer SUV, causing a crash that injured both drivers and a TDOT worker to the hospital Monday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The collision took place around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 11W and\u00a0 Bridgeport Bay, according to WIJHL<\/a> reports. Preliminary details suggest the semi-truck driver had stopped on the southbound shoulder. The SUV motorist took note of this and merged over a lane to allow for the truck driver to enter oncoming traffic. As the big rig driver was entering the road, they went across several lanes and collided with the SUV as a result.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a Tennessee DOT attenuator truck was involved in the wreck. Still, it did not specify if the truck was moving or stationary or if the worker was inside or outside of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Troopers did not comment on the extent of injuries all occupants sustained. However, they did confirm that only the SUV operator and TDOT worker were hospitalized.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The truck driver is expected to face criminal charges, although authorities did not comment on the specifics of those charges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
