JACKSONVILLE, FL \u2013 New details from Florida Highway Patrol revealed that a man was killed in a fiery rear-end semi-truck collision on I-10 East Wednesday<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to an update from News4Jax<\/a>, the man, driving a semi-truck, rear-ended another tractor-trailer after failing to reduce his speed during slow traffic. The impact caused the man\u2019s truck and the other big rig to catch on fire. The flames spread quickly and trapped the man inside. The man lost his life moments later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Florida Highway Patrol received a call to head to the scene after 5:40 a.m. and arrived a short time later. The other driver, a 45-year-old man from New York, survived. He wore his seatbelt and was spared from physical harm. The wreck proved severe, as indicated by the source\u2019s photos, which showcased the front of both trucks charred and significantly damaged.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the fire erupted, fire crews worked for some time to extinguish the flames.
