Despite attempts by the driver to avoid a crash, the semi ultimately struck the male pedestrian, and the impact caused him to be thrown nearly 153 feet. The semi then came to a stop on the highway&#8217;s west shoulder, about 391 feet from the initial crash site.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation remains in progress.
