The impact of this wreck caused the deputy\u2019s marked patrol SUV, traveling east on Hudson, to go underneath the truck, thus trapping the deputy himself.<\/p>\nFire rescue crews were able to extricate the deputy, identified as 32-year-old Dakota Dellechiaie, from his destroyed SUV prior to an ambulance taking him to a hospital to receive treatment for serious head lacerations.<\/p>\n
The truck driver was unharmed in the process, and authorities did not say if he would face charges.\u00a0It is unclear if the Dellechiaie did not reduce his speed and yield to the truck prior to this collision.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nFlorida Highway Patrol, who were among the first responders, did have to shut down Hudson Avenue for a few hours for the standard scene clearance and investigation period.<\/p>\n
