AUSTIN, TX \u2013 One person was left in critical condition, and four others were injured in a collision between a sedan and a transport truck Saturday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CBS Austin<\/a> said this crash occurred before 9:30 p.m. at the East Oltorf Street and South Congress Avenue intersection. Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services and Austin Fire Rescue were summoned to the scene.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fire crews managed to extricate the five individuals from their sedan after it got trapped underneath the transport truck.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An ambulance took the person (who was issued a trauma alert) with critical, life-threatening wounds to Dell Seton Medical Center and two adults to St. David\u2019s South Medical Center for injuries deemed potentially serious and serious. A child suffered non-life-threatening wounds and was sent to Dell Children\u2019s Medical Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Officials said the fifth occupant also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. At the time of reporting, emergency crews said the person was going to go to the hospital but did not clarify if the transportation actually occurred.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
