TEMPLE, TX \u2013 An oversized load fell off a semi-trailer, and a car became pinned underneath the truck after colliding, claiming the lives of two people Saturday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This crash happened before 11:30 a.m. on Texas Highway 36, Spectrum Local News<\/a> reported.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Temple Fire & Rescue and The Temple Police Department, who responded to the crash site, declared two people, who were car passengers, deceased at the scene. After arriving, first responders, which also consisted of <\/span>Georgetown, Belton, and Killeen emergency crews, extricated one of the car occupants before a medical helicopter took them<\/span> to a hospital for treatment of serious, life-threatening wounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Officials did not confirm if the truck driver was harmed. Upon arrival, crews were seen doing what they could to stabilize the load, which was said to have weighed approximately 350,000 pounds. They closed the area for several hours before reopening all lanes around 7 p.m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
