AIKEN COUNTY, SC — One person was killed Friday morning due a multi-vehicle collision in Aiken that left five others hospitalized, according to Aiken Standard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The accident happened on Hitchcock Parkway at Northwood Drive, prompting an emergency response some time after 10:22 a.m.<\/p>\n

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials say the victim was driving a 2010 Honda Civic on Hitchcock Parkway when they veered past the center line, causing the car to collide with an oncoming 2016 Dodge Ram marked as a Aiken County ambulance, and then a 2024 GMC Yukon.<\/p>\n

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables pronounced the driver of the Honda, local resident Isaiah Johnson, deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

The ambulance’s three occupants, a patient, an attendant, and the driver, were all transported to an area hospital, along with two people from the GMC Yukon. Officials have not released any information about the severity of their conditions.<\/p>\n

Part of Hitchcock Parkway was shut down during the response and investigation, which remains underway with the Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.<\/p>\n
