It was first reported at around 1:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Colleton County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, a a tractor-trailer was transporting an unspecified number of cattle southbound when the truck was involved in a crash.<\/p>\n<p>While part of the interstate was shut down for nearly nine hours during the emergency response, crews were not able to collect all of the animals that got loose as a result of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The interstate was announced cleared by the South Carolina Highway Patrol at about 10:30 a.m., but the public was asked to be alert for loose cattle near Beach Road, Ulmer Lake Road, Cypress Pond Road, and other neighboring areas.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who encounters or sees one of the loose animals is urged to call the Colleton County non-emergency line at 843-549-2211.
