TALLADEGA COUNTY, AL — A 43-year-old Ragland woman died late Friday morning following a multi-vehicle wreck on Alabama State Route 77 in Lincoln, reports AL.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Authorities did not provided the exact location, but the accident, which involved a dump truck and an Alabama State Trooper vehicle, occurred at 11:16 a.m.<\/p>\n

According to Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett, the victim, Lori M. Laber, was driving a Honda Civic when the car was hit by a Kenworth dump truck. The Honda was then rear-ended by the trooper’s Dodge Charger.<\/p>\n

Laber, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, was thrown from her car in the impact of the crash. First responders pronounced her deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

Her passenger, Jesse R. Ecker Jr., 43, was rushed to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega. Officials noted that Ecker Jr. was also not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.<\/p>\n

It was unclear whether the dump truck driver, 59-year-old Stephen J. Hopkins, a Pell City resident, was injured.<\/p>\n

An investigation remains open and ongoing.<\/p>\n
