SPALDING COUNTY, GA — A man was injured Thursday afternoon due to a crash involving two heavy trucks and a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 41 near north Griffin, reports WSB-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Georgia Highway Patrol officials say the collision occurred at the intersection with Minter Road just before 2:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

According to troopers, Spalding County fire crews were responding to a wreck when an X Power Grid Services bucket truck collided with the back of the fire engine. The impact of the crash sent the fire engine into the median, and, moments later, a passing pickup truck also struck the fire truck.<\/p>\n

While no injuries among the firefighters and pickup driver were reported, first responders worked for over an hour to extricate the driver from the electrical truck. The patient was then flown to Grady Memorial Hospital, where their condition remains undisclosed.<\/p>\n

As of 5:30 p.m., the northbound highway was shut down, and only one southbound lane was open to traffic as crews worked to clear the bucket truck from the roadway.<\/p>\n

No further information has been released at this time.<\/p>\n
