It was first reported by Local 10 at 9;44 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was operating a 2008 Volvo tractor with a 2014 Stoughton trailer in the outer center lane when a black 2021 Nissan Altima in the inside center lane hit its back. The contact caused the trailer to strike the concrete median wall, as well as a parked 1991 Trim trailer, before flipping onto its roof and becoming engulfed in fire.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Lauderdale and Broward fire rescue crews rushed to the scene, where the driver of the tractor was pronounced deceased. The victim&#8217;s identity has not been disclosed at this time.<\/p>\n<p>It was unclear whether the driver of the Nissan, a 39-year-old woman, was injured and\/or taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>FHP troopers and Florida Department of Transportation officials urged motorists to find alternate routes.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation into the cause of the wreck remains open and ongoing.
