The news agency reports that two large steel discs also flew off the flatbed of the truck during the accident and landed on U.S. 68, causing heavy damage to the roadway.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, 71-year-old Charles Hawk of Baden, Pennsylvania, was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton following the crash. He was reportedly listed in serious condition.

There's been no word on the driver of the Toyota Camry, but police told the news source that no charges have been filed in the crash.

According to officials, the driver of the truck, Charles Short of Delaware, was treated for minor injuries at Heritage Hospital in Tarboro.

The exact cause of the crash reportedly remains under investigation. No citations have yet been issued.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol told the news agency that it's unclear exactly how fast Pinske was driving at the time of the accident. They are also not aware if he was wearing his seatbealt at the time of the crash.

Pinske was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Mi-not with unknown injuries. He reportedly remains in stable condition.

The Hampton Roads Daily Press reports that the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when a 2009 Chevy Cobalt being driven by Jessica Aguero was side swiped by a tractor tractor on Interstate 64 West near Denbigh Boulevard in Newport News.

Virginia State Police told the news agency that it appears as if the driver of the semi, Douglas Hartwill, hit Aguero's car after she slammed on her brakes to try to avoid stopped traffic ahead of her on the highway. According to police, the Cobalt then skidded across the highway before it was hit.

Aguero was flown to Norfolk Sentara General Hospital and was reportedly listed in critical condition after the crash. Police said that charges against Aguero are pending.

Hartwill has been charged with following too closely behind another vehicle. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries he sustained in the wreck.

According to KRCG, the accident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on June 6 when a Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by Jeanna Surface was traveling slowly behind the tractor northbound in the right lane on the Highway 54/63 bridge over Jefferson City.

Jefferson City Police told the news agency that Surface's vehicle was struck from behind by a big rig as it attempted to switch from the middle to the right-hand lane, pinning the Tahoe in between the truck and the tractor.

Officials said that it appeared as if the driver of the tractor trailer, 68-year-old Benjamin Schroyer, was not able to slow down in time to avoid hitting Surface's SUV. Police have not yet determined if he will be cited in the crash.

The impact of the collision tied up traffic for about an hour as emergency crews worked to clear the wreck.

According to the news agency, the force of the impact caused the 18-wheeler to burst into flames. The driver of the construction vehicle, Eric Marshall Harris Boling, was taken to a local hospital where his condition remains unknown.

North Carolina Highway Patrol officials told the news source that it appears as if Greer failed to slow down as he approached the construction area and hit the crash truck from behind. The crash truck was being used to block the right lane of the highway and protect the crew working on the roadway at the time of the wreck.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.

The Oregonian reports that William Geary filed the $4.5 million suit in Multnomah County Circuit Court against Express Transport Corporation seeking damages for all of his medical expenses, lost income and pain and suffering in the December 2010 accident.

According to the news agency, Geary was waiting at a red light at the intersection of Biddle and Table Rock roads when the double trailer turned right and tipped over onto his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.

Geary was reportedly trapped in his vehicle for 90 minutes and suffered serious neck and knee injuries. He has since had to undergo four surgeries as a result of the accident.

The driver of the tractor trailer was reportedly cited for reckless driving.

The lawsuit contends that the trucking company is negligent because it failed to properly maintain the tractor trailer, which the suit claims had faulty rear axle brakes at the time of the crash.
 

WKRG reports that the tour bus was carrying students from the Del Rio, Texas marching band to a performance in Orlando, Florida, when it crashed into the overturned semi just after 12:30 a.m. near the the Grand Bay exit eastbound on June 6.

According to the news agency, 21 students and one of their chaperones were injured in the collision. Alabama State Police said that one of the injured was flown to the USA Medical Center and that two of the injured had to be admitted into the intensive care unit with serious injuries.

Police said that it appeared as if all the other injuries were minor in nature.

Officials told the news agency that it is unclear as to why the tractor trailer overturned before the bus accident. An investigation is reportedly underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
